Review

Can I please be the first to say that this book is splendorific (that's a cross between splendid, terrific, and wonderful for those of you who don't know. And yes, I am an amazing wordsmith, thank you for asking.)? Because it is one my favorite books of all time, and is definitely a favorite book of 2014. It is sweet and funny in all the right places, and it leaves you with a really warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

Macallan is a regular girl. Honestly, I can see so many people I know reflected in her and the way she acts. I loved how real and raw Macallan was because it added a lot of realism to the book. Levi was adorable- in every sense of the word. I loved how sweet and patient he was, waiting for Macallan as long as she needed. Besides, I really love the name Levi... Just sayin'.

I loved the whole 'boys and girl can be best friends too' aspect of the book. I'm a sucker for books where girls and guys are best friends and this book enveloped all that wonderfulness perfectly. The feelings that this book made you feel were really raw and happy.

I was so excited when I saw that this book was in dual perspective. I love dual perspective books, and the execution was really good. I especially loved seeing the banter between Levi and Macallan after each chapter- it was light, funny, and super cute to see the relationship between the two protagonists.

I would briefly like to address the fact that some people want a sequel to Better Off Friends... No. Please, no. The book ended with an absolute ending, unlike To All The Boys I've Loved Before. The charterers' journeys were complete and we left them at a god point. I understand wanting more of Levi and Macallan- they're both adorable, and funny, and really fun to read about- but their story is done. I hope that if Elizabeth Eulberg does write a trilogy, she doesn’t force in a love triangle or any sappy drama. However, I hope for no sequel at all.

I absolutely loved this book and it has gone into my favorites pile. Now, it's time to see what other amazingness Elizabeth Eulberg writes in the future.

The Mortal Instruments is Becoming a TV Show!

Looks like The Mortal Instruments is becoming a TV show guys! 

 For those of you who didn't see the movie (lucky you, because it would have destroyed the book for you) it sucked and that needs to be fixed. I think a TV show is the way to do it. They can get the plot right and get better actors (yes, Jamie Campbell Bower was an okay actor but he reminded me too much of someone I know sooo...I couldn't look at him without thinking about that friend).

Review 


I don't normally read sci-fi, because I'm not into aliens or robots, or really anything else that has to do with most sci-fi. But I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

The cover is cheesy, though the color is eye-catching. Green really stands out, ya know? I kind of like the title. It doesn't give away what the book is about. You don't even really understand the purpose of the title until you read the book, then it makes sense.

The writing is good; not too descriptive in detail, leaving it to your imagination. The characters are great, witty, snippy, and funny. I loved how Katy and Daemon went back and forth with witty comments and insults.

Deamon is snarky. Dee is perky and fun. Katy is witty aaaand taking to the aliens well...better than I ever would have, regardless of how smoking hot they might be (in human form, of course).

I like the relationship Daemon and Katy have. There's this jokey-insulting tension between them that continues through the book. They go back and forth, but you can tell they both care about what the other thinks, and that they like each other regardless of how much they say they don't.

I also like how these two characters just like each other (for now). They're kind of friends, but at the same time there's an attraction. Though, they still deny that there's anything happening between them. Katy knows she's attracted to him (and so does Daemon, as he likes to point out more than once) but continues to deny it. While Daemon is attracted to Katy, even admits it, but she doesn't believe it!

Like I said, I can't wait to read the sequel but I have 2 other books to read first, so keep an eye out for more reviews ;)
